You Know Yourself So Well

So why do you still feel stuck?

I help you get underneath the patterns you understand — but still can’t seem to shift.

BOOK A FREE 15-MINUTE CALL

You are not broken.

And you aren’t failing at healing.

If you’ve found your way here, you’ve probably already done a fair bit of work on yourself.

You know your triggers, your attachment patterns and the childhood experiences that shaped you. You can recognise emotional dysregulation as it’s happening — even while it floods your entire system and feels like an emotional hijacking.

You know these patterns are affecting your relationships, draining your energy and limiting your capacity to really flourish and create the life you know you deeply desire.

And somewhere in all of this, you may be quietly wondering:

Can I actually change this?

Perhaps you’ve tried everything you can poke a stick at: therapy, retreats, workshops, self-help books, breathwork, body-based practices, women’s circles, men’s groups….

Maybe even late nights unpacking it all with ChatGPT.

Yet all it takes is one loaded conversation, one hint of rejection or one perfectly placed trigger — and everything you understand seems to go out the window.

That doesn’t mean the work you’ve done has failed.

It means the pattern is held beyond understanding alone — in your body, your emotional system and the parts of you that learned how to survive long before you could explain any of it.

That is where our work begins.

Our destination is emotional regulation and self leadership.

“I’d paid so much money for therapy and was still anxious and unhappy… then I found Janine.” — A client of mine in Sydney, Australia

Getting underneath what you already understand

Somatic integration is a deeply compassionate way of working with the emotional, bodily and protective patterns beneath the story.

Rather than analysing you from the outside or giving you another strategy to manage yourself, we slow things down and listen to what is actually happening within you.

Your body holds information your thinking mind may not be able to reach.

A tightening in your chest. The urge to disappear, defend, please or push someone away. The younger part of you who still expects love to vanish or for someone to betray you. The relentless inner critic who believes being hard on you is the only way to keep you safe.

These responses are not random, dysfunctional pieces of you that need to be eliminated or overpowered. They are intelligent survival adaptations formed through experiences your system could not fully process at the time.

Together, we gently discover and compassionately meet what is still unresolved.

I listen deeply, reflect what I notice and help you stay connected to the sensations, emotions and parts of yourself that have been difficult to reach alone. We work at a pace your system can genuinely tolerate — without forcing, performing or endlessly retelling your story.

I guide you, while you do the healing.

My role is to help create the conditions in which your system feels safe enough to soften, integrate and discover that it no longer has to keep repeating the past.

As this work deepens, you may begin to experience:

  • greater emotional steadiness without shutting yourself down
  • less anxiety, overthinking and self-criticism
  • more security within yourself and your relationships
  • the ability to stay connected to yourself when triggered
  • clearer boundaries without guilt or self-abandonment
  • more energy for intimacy, creativity, purpose and life

This is not about becoming a polished, permanently regulated version of yourself.

It is about becoming more whole, more free and more naturally yourself.

    A Quiet Spiritual Dimension

This work is grounded and practical — and it often opens into something deeper.

This work is deeply grounded in the body and in what is actually happening.

Sometimes, as the pain begins to ease and things begin to settle, something quieter becomes easier to hear — intuition, meaning, imagination, connection, spirit, or simply a deeper sense of your own inner knowing.

If that dimension of life matters to you, it is welcome here.

Sometimes it can be quite wild and wow!

Whatever your spiritual beliefs we can explore symbolic, imaginal or spiritual dimensions when they naturally arise while staying connected to your body and your lived experience.

    We stay curious.

    We stay grounded.

And we let your experience tell us what is true for you.

    About Janine

I’m a somatic healing guide and psychotherapist with a lifelong fascination for what makes us who we are — and what allows us to genuinely change.

I’m drawn to wild, natural connection: walking barefoot, backpacking through South America, rafting Tasmania’s rivers, dancing under the stars and exploring what may be the wildest landscape of all — the inner one.

I also know what it is to appear capable on the outside while feeling anxious, deeply insecure and unworthy or emotionally overwhelmed within.

Growing up in a loving but volatile environment with inconsistent connection – I learned to function well — but my nervous system carried deeper layers of insecurity and overwhelming dysregulation. I felt unseen, unworthy and powerless.

Like many of my clients, I became very good at understanding myself.

Understanding was important. But it wasn’t the same as feeling safe, whole or free.

In my late thirties, I began working more deeply with my body and with the wounded and protective parts of myself. Over time, the things I had understood intellectually began to change at a more fundamental level.

Not through one dazzling breakthrough or a perfectly linear healing journey.

It was gradual. Sometimes profound. Sometimes messy. Increasingly embodied and real.

That experience shapes the way I work now.

I bring professional training in clinical hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, Compassion Key®, somatic awareness, parts-based approaches, EFT, conversational hypnosis and nervous-system regulation — alongside decades of lived exploration into healing, consciousness and human connection.

I will listen closely. I’ll notice what may be happening underneath the words. I’ll help you slow things down, stay connected to yourself and meet the places you may not yet have been able to reach alone.

My approach is warm, intuitive, grounded and collaborative.

There is room here for grief, anger, contradiction, humour, silence, swearing, uncertainty and the parts of you that still don’t have a tidy explanation.

You only need to arrive as you are.

    I’d love to meet you.

    How Sessions Work

Our work begins with a complimentary 15-minute call.

It is simply a chance to meet, talk about what is happening for you and feel whether working together seems right.

Don’t worry, there’s no 12 week package! Just session by session.

If we decide to continue, we meet privately online via Zoom. In-person sessions may also be available by arrangement when geography allows.

Sessions are spacious and responsive rather than rigidly scripted. We may talk, track what is happening in your body, explore a recurring emotional pattern or connect with a protective or vulnerable part of you.

Sometimes the shift is subtle: a little more space around something that usually overwhelms you.

Sometimes a connection becomes startlingly clear.

Nearly always a part of you that has been in pain and stuck, feels understood — this can bring about emotional release and integration.

You remain in charge of the process. We work at your pace, and you are never pushed to disclose, revisit or process something before you feel ready.

    Your next steps:

    • Book a complimentary 15-minute call
    • Meet with me privately online
    • Begin with an initial, spacious session
    • Continue one session at a time, according to what feels useful
    • Allow the work to unfold at a pace that is right for you

No pressure. No packages required. Work at your pace.
